Same boost, different target... remember that the point of Ascension was to access the gift of True Sight so you could see the Unseen Masters of the White Mantle. It's just that they didn't put in a mechanic forcing people who have been run to Ascend or find that they can't see the Mursaat. However, it did make me wonder just how many times we'll have to achieve an Ascension-like state - I can see the following piece of dialogue cropping up in a future chapter:

"Many have attempted my Ascension-like test and perished. What makes you think you are any different?"

"Because I've already passed about a dozen of these silly tests. What makes you think yours is any different?"

Personally, you know what I'd like to see? We know that the Crystal Desert was originally the site of Ascension for Elonians, so I wouldn't mind seeing the area recycled. Once you've achieved Ascension from either chapter 1 or chapter 3, you go back to the chapter that first brought you to the Crystal Desert (so if you did Sanctum Cay before the mission that leads you to the desert in Nightfall, you end up in Dragon's Lair* after Ascension), but after you've Ascended once, reaching the desert from the other campaign also unlocks wherever you go after leaving the desert in that campaign (so if your character has Ascended through the C3 story, Dragon's Lair is automatically unlocked after completing Sanctum Cay)

*Even if Nightfall characters also seek out Glint after Ascension, they'll be looking for different information from her, so it would probably be a different mission.

I just really hope this ascension thing doesnt happen again in nightfall.Like we haven seen enuf of these sort of stuff in other games/movies/anime etc etc...even power rangers have it,will look very dull if tht happens again!!!!

I just though of summit, imagine ascending in Proph using nightfall

"Many Elonians (spelling?) tried to ascend here, they all perished"

"hey what about me! ME!"

does this mean elonians carnt ascend there?
